Green Initiatives

In 2018, collaborate with Ministry of Industry through Department of Primary Industries and Mines and UN Country Team in Thailand through UNIDO to study for ways to reduce U-POPs release from our production facilities.

TMA pioneers in reducing GHG emission by monitoring CFO and CFP which is verified by TGO, and invests in technology and process that reduce CO2 emission.

Improve furnace fuel efficiency through regenerative burners and recuperation systems.
Capture solar energy via solar roof panels with 4 MW installed power.

Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO)

Thai Metal Aluminium the first aluminium extruder in Thailand which has been certified for Carbon Footprint Organization (CFO) & Carbon Footprint Product (CFP) by Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO).

Scope 1

Direct GHG emissions/ removal include GHG emissions/removal from sources owned or controlled by the organization such as stationary combustion, mobile combustion, fugitive emissions and others

Scope 2

Energy indirect GHG emissions are GHG emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, heat or steam consumed by the organization

Scope 3

Other indirect GHG emissions are GHG emissions other than energy indirect emissions resulting from an organization’s activities, but arising from sources that are owned or controlled by other organizations

Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP)

Thai Metal Company Limited has also been certified for Carbon Footprint of Product or CFP as the first aluminium extruder in Thailand as well. In order to respond to the measure of the world market which encourage countries to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. And the European Union (EU) will be the first country to levy the Carbon taxes in 2024.

UN and UNIDO Team visit Thai Metal

Within the framework of UNIDO ‘Greening the Scrap Metal Value Chain through Promotion of BAT/BEP to Reduce U-POPs Release from Recycling Facilities’ project, a high level visit was organized in partnership with Thailand’s Ministry of Industry for Collen Vixen Kelapile, President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and Gita Sabharwal, UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand.
